Will’s wills for Charity

Will’s wills for charity is back once again.  Here is how it works:

This is a one day only program: Friday March 22, 2019.  You need to book a pair of two time slots for the day.

At the end of the day you and your partner each get a will and two powers of attorney (one for health and one for finances).  I normally charge $734.50 flat rate (with tax) for that.

Here is how it works:

You sign up for one of the following pairs of time slots for Friday March 22:

9:30 and 1:30

10:30 and 2:30

11:30 and 3:30

I will cross the time slots off as they get taken.

In the morning we will talk about the options for a will and POAs and make decisions.  I then draft the documents.  We then meet again in the afternoon to review, edit and sign.  The first meeting can be done on the phone if you prefer to do that.  The second meeting has to be at my office as you will be signing.

Instead of paying me for the will and POAs, you pay $700 to a charity.  You can either give me a cheque for the charity or you can pay online using this link:

So, what is the charity?

This year, we are raising money for an overnight camp that St. Alban’s Boys and Girls Club is in the process of creating.  The camp will have subsidized spots for children who would otherwise be unable to attend overnight camp.  I am on the board at St. Alban’s.  It’s a great organization that does a lot of amazing things for children.  I am very excited about the overnight camp project that we have going as I was lucky as a child to be able to go to overnight camp and I want as many children as possible to be able to get that experience.  We have already purchased a site for the camp near Minden and are working on getting docks, cabins, the dining hall etc. I am hoping to raise enough money over the next few years to pay for the construction of one of the cabins at the camp.

So, in summary, you get a will and two POAs for each of the two of you and you spend less money than you would normally spend to do so and you help a kids charity in the process.  That is win, win, win.

The only cost of doing so is that you have to fit into the time slots that I am offering.  I can’t run this program at other times, it’s a one day only deal.
